Business Analyst – Payment Systems for Efron Consulting, Inc. will assist Efron’s Financial industry clients with the testing and analysis of payment systems, requirements and procedures in support of the achievement of business objectives and the reduction of security breaches, risk and fraud.  More specifically, the Business Analyst – Payment Systems will be responsible for: investigating, identifying and analyzing production issues with various commercial and custom payments systems software and solutions; creating new and revising existing system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards; communicating production issues to internal and/or external development teams and third-party vendors; Drafting Requests for Change (“RFCs”) directing software developers to develop software fixes in line with specific procedures and standards; performing pre-production functional testing of edits and improvements to custom applications; coordinating the implementation of new software applications, customizations and improvements; providing system support for day-to-day payment systems operations (such as credit card certifications and mobile payment transactions) and providing assistance to end users in cases of operations error; and keeping abreast of payment system trends and common fraud system defects; ensuring compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (“PCI”), EMV technical standards and payment systems best practices.

 

Must have: Three (3) years of experience as a Business Analyst, Business Consultant, or similar IT role in the financial industry specializing in payment systems OR a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a closely-related field plus one (1) year of experience as a Business Analyst, Business Consultant, or similar IT role in the financial industry specializing in payment systems.  Must also have: experience working with mainframe systems and Time Sharing Option (“TSO”) environments; experience working with neural network software for fraud prevention; knowledge of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (“PCI”), EMV technical standards and payment systems best practices; knowledge of transaction systems, including: point of sale, automatic teller machine and Card not Present (“CNP”); and knowledge of mobile payment technologies, including: near field communication (“NFC”), host card emulation (“HCE”), magnetic secure transmission (“MST”) and secure element (“SE”).

Mainframe Specialist Analyst for Efron Consulting, Inc. will assist Efron’s Financial industry clients with the maintenance of mainframe environments by analyzing new and existing systems, programs and applications for errors and areas in need of improvement.  In addition, s/he will implement system modifications to resolve issues and enhance capabilities and functionalities.  More specifically, the Mainframe Specialist Analyst’s responsibilities will include: developing and documenting testing procedures using IBM mainframe tools and languages to monitor programs and systems; analyzing and interpreting system performance data to identify problems with program function and deviance from standards; performing initial debugging procedures by reviewing configuration files, logs, or code pieces to determine breakdown sources; suggesting modifications to repair and enhance software to software developers by drafting Requests for Remedy and Requests for Change; monitoring bug resolution efforts and tracking successes; analyzing, testing and implementing new and updated software; creating and conducting software compatibility tests and regression tests and recording test results for quality control; and facilitating migrations of data, code and components from deployment areas to new and existing systems.

 

Must have: BS in Computer Science or a closely-related field (foreign equivalency accepted), plus three (3) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience as a Mainframe Specialist, Programmer or Analyst or similar position working in a mainframe environment in the Financial industry.  Must also have: knowledge of database user interface and query software, including: DB2 Utilities, SQL, and QMF; knowledge of communications server software, including: FTPs; knowledge of Enterprise Resources Planning software, including: SAP and Oracle; knowledge of tools and languages, including: COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, Syncsort, ISPF and TSO; and experience with Requests for Remedy and/or Requests for Change.
